How to mount a mobile capsule on a truck camper and how to store it?

Your first trip together

You became a happy owner of the AZAR4 pickup camper and you can not wait for the first trip into the unknown. Your roadster is ready to take on the next challenge and go on a longer vacation with you, this time on a different basis. You must mount the pickup truck on the load box, for which you will need special handles. Attach two pairs of mounting screws to the car’s construction.

• Eye bolts at the front of the vehicle’s load box, spacing around 110 cm
• Eye bolts on the back bar of the hook or mounted to the car frame at a spacing of about 120 cm

It is also necessary to disassemble the rear side of the load box. Preparing your pickup truck to expand its functionality will take you a few moments. However, it is worth spending more time checking if the spacing is correct and all screws have been screwed. The only thing left is to mount the mobile capsule!

Assembling of mobile capsule step by step

Bolts screwed, rear side of the load box disassembled, so you can start mounting the mobile capsule. Follow the instructions, treat it as a lesson for the future. You will be an expert next time.

• Remove the side covers – handles, through which the fastening belts will be put.
• After removing the handles, they should be used to put through the fastening belts in such a way that the free end of the belt hangs outside the capsule.
• Use our support legs with adjustable height to lift the capsule. The spacing of the lifts must be adapted to the external contours of the pickup truck with loose.
• Lift mobile capsule approx. 2 cm above the floor of the load box. Care should be taken to raise the capsule evenly from each side.
• If the capsule was stored on rollers or other underlay, remove it.
• Drive the car (preferably with the assistance of a second person) partly under the previously lifted capsule.
• Did you park? Perfect! The hold-down straps removed from the capsule should be inserted through the handles on the car’s pivot.
• At this point, you can drive the car under the entire capsule. You can ask second person to assist you.
• The capsule should be slowly and evenly lowered onto the pickup truck loading zone.
• Remove the support legs from the capsule cavity.
• Strech the mounting belts. It is possible from the inside of the capsule.
• After tensioning the belts, handles should be closed with covers from the inside.
• Attach the back of the capsule to the rear mounting brackets.

It’s almost done. Now you need to take a test that will allow you to verify that your pickup camper is ready for the road and will beat any extreme route easily. Make a test drive. Press the gas pedal several times and drive it, then brake. Check that all mounting points are properly tightened and make needed adjustments. We recommend checking the belt tension even after driving a few kilometers. We fix the capsule without loose, but also without excessive stress.

We speed up a little the course of events, although we hope that it was a long and exciting journey for you. You have learned the unlimited possibilities of your new truck camper and you can hardly part with it for a few weeks. Take care of his good parking, arrange him the best conditions for shorter and longer “wintering”.

You can store the capsule on rollers or a stand specially prepared for it. When choosing the option, consider its weight – 350 – 600 kg depending on the equipment. It is relatively small, but requires a solid support. Choose a stand made of steel, wood or other material, which will ensure the stability of the capsule. If you have such a possibility, you can make it on your own. Remember to protect the metal against corrosion.

The pickup camper construction is large, it requires anchoring to the ground or other stable underlay. This is necessary to protect it from the adverse impact of external factors. A stronger breeze with the garage door open could have knocked it over and damaged it, and you have already planned your next vacation. Lack of anchoring is also a risk of losing stability and changing the center of gravity due to the movement of people in it. Moving the center of gravity can effectively change its position.

If you are not using mobile capsule during the winter, remember to empty the water system and dry the water tanks, and leave the valves open. Low temperatures could freeze water. This is one of the reasons for the failure of the installation. We avoid such situations!

Long time of not using the capsule requires you to check the battery charge status. If necessary, recharge it. This way you will avoid surprises before your next trip. Once a month you must also run the pickup camper heating. To protect capsule from dirt, cover it with a tarp or cover. This way it will be easier for you to prepare it for the next season.
